Rioblush™

How does it work?
The introduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the dermis results in vasodilation, as the body attempts to correct what it considers an imbalance in the O2/CO2 balance. This increases the blood flow which creates a surge of oxygen and nutrients, the result of which fosters cell and collagen restoration and reduction of localised fat. Recent studies suggest that CO2 introduction also stimulates localised production of venous growth factor (VFG), which leads to a long-term improvement in blood flow and tissue quality, thus has the ability to stimulate hair growth on the scalp.
Micro injections at more superficial levels increases circulation resulting in skin rejuvenation, tissue remodelling and improved skin elasticity. Injections at deeper levels into the fatty tissue damages and kills fat cells. The result is thicker, firmer subcutaneous tissue with better texture and fewer fat cells.
Does it hurt and is it toxic?
Some patients may experience mild discomfort; most patients report a warm tingling sensation, followed by a feeling of the skin stretching slightly, this feeling subsides after a few minutes. The Rioblush™ Carboxy Therapy system is the only system on the market which provides heated gas, which dramatically reduces discomfort.
No. It is a natural by-product of respiration and CO2 is present in every cell in the body. The Rioblush™ Carboxy Therapy system introduces very small amounts of the gas under the surface of the skin. In contrast certain medical procedures like colonoscopy, laparoscopy or keyhole surgery introduce thousands of times more volume of CO2 to the body with no adverse effects.
How many sessions & results?
Rioblush™ Carboxy Therapy requires on average between 6 and 12 treatments on a weekly or fortnightly basis, this greatly depends on the condition and area being treated.
Most people observe improvement after the first treatment, though it usually takes up to one month for the body to properly react to the process. More pronounced and long-lasting results are observed after 6 treatments, by which time the skin shows clear signs of healthy rejuvenation. However for cellulite, stretch marks and hair stimulation 10 to 12 sessions may be required.

Unlike more powerful laser and IPL treatments there is no pain associated with the delivery of the LED light to the skin.
- Blue light LED treatment for the control of acne. Blue light works by killing the acne-causing bacteria, P. acnes, and is being used to treat inflammatory acne vulgaris that has not responded to other acne therapies. The blue-light products of today however do not contain ultraviolet (UV) light, which was a staple of former light therapy used to treat acne. UV light can damage skin and is no longer used to treat acne. The combination of Hydrafacial™ as a pre-treatment to the blue LED light means that dead skin and debris is removed first so that the blue light is better targeted at the acne prone skin layers beneath.

Many people report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment with the results and skin hydration lasting between 5 and 7 days, and sometimes longer, making it an ideal one off treatment for a special occasion or a 'freshen-up'.
In general, for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne and oily skin or areas of colour patchiness, we usually advise a series of six treatments, with ongoing maintenance treatments every 2 to 8 weeks. A treatment programme incorporating the various serums, growth factors, peel products and LED light will of course be customised on a per patient basis, depending on the individual skin requirements.
The HydraFacial treatment is a fast, efficient treatment that takes between 30-45 minutes, depending on the additional options used during treatment, e.g., LED light etc. Most patients find that they can return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment since there is no downtime.
The treatment is usually painless and doesn't irritate the skin greatly. All patients will experience some slight tightness and redness of the skin afterwards, which may last for a couple of hours following treatment. Treatments using peel products may however prolong any redness. However any redness will be concealed using Lycogel triple silica gel foundation with SPF30.

Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy provides advanced skin micro-surgical needling, a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier and younger-looking skin.
What is Dermaroller™?
The Dermaroller™ medical device is rolled over the face to produce thousands of microscopic needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly - often in the same day. A topical anaesthetic cream is used to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take between 30 to 60 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 to 30 minutes for the Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.
After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a gradual and long lasting enhancement.
Dermaroller™ will give similar results to fractional laser; however fractional laser only makes 70 micro holes per shot, whereas Dermaroller™ makes 200 per roll. Also there is no thermal damage or injury or downtime associate with fractional laser.

Treatment Information
How many treatments?
Each individual varies in the number of treatments they require; however, it is normal to have a series of three Dermaroller™ procedures with approximately 4 to 6 weeks between them to fully optimise the results. However for the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary to have up to six procedures. Although for basic skin rejuvenation only one treatment can be of great benefit.
How will I look immediately after the treatment?
Each treatment includes pre-cleansing with Agera® RX products, followed by application of topical anaesthetic. Immediately after Dermaroller™ Therapy you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day or two. Immediately after the procedure Lycogel® will be applied to promote healing and provide SPF30, this also greatly conceals any redness, therefore you can return to your normal activities immediately. If you will be exposed to extensive sunlight broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a SPF50 will also be applied.
Aftercare
Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours and dry gently, always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area. It is recommended that make up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure, although the use of Lycogel® is highly recommended.
It is important to protect from Sun / UV Exposure and to refrain from intensive sun light exposure and/or from artificial UV exposure for a period of at least 2 weeks after the procedure. A topical sun protection product with an SPF 50 or higher and with stated UVA protection must be used on a daily basis with regular applications for the same period. Failure to follow the sun exposure and sun protection advice can increase this risk of hyper-pigmentation.
Steam and saunas should be avoided for 3 days post treatment.
