Tissue Growth Factor
Imagine a "chemical messenger" that can enter skin cells and send a signal, teaching it to be young again…..
TGF is the new kid on the block to facial aesthetics; however it has been used in medical science for over 30 years. TGF is applied in the same manner as conventional fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm and Perlane. However the most crucial difference is that growth factor which is injected into the face with a fine needle is extracted from your own blood. The TGF once injected immediately fills lines, wrinkles and gives the youthful plumpness back to the skin. It can also be used to improve the volume of the lips as well as give a fuller natural pout. TGF can also be used to rejuvenate the skin on the whole of the face, neck, décolleté and hands.
The benefits from TGF are that there is absolutely no risk of reaction as the TGF is from your own body. It is a natural approach to anti-ageing as your body has provided the ingredients to produce the results.
How does it work?
The actual tissue growth factors spurn the production of collagen by initiating fibroblast activity within the white blood cells. Once the collagen is produced the voids and lines are filled and the elasticity and firmness of the skin is greatly improved.
During the treatment 10 to 15 mls of blood is taken from your arm, which would feel the same as having a blood test. The vial of blood is then spun in a special machine for 6 minutes which separates the TGF from the rest of the components of your blood, then with the use of a patented technique the TGF is concentrated and activated ready for use. The TGF itself comprises of 30 different chemicals and must be used immediately to maximise its potency. It is these chemicals that have the ability once re-injected into the face to rejuvenate the skin and fill lines and wrinkles.
Does it hurt?
A fine needle is used to take the blood to minimise the discomfort. Whilst the blood is being spun your face would be cleansed, then a local anaesthetic cream would be applied to the treatment area. If you were having the naso-labial folds or lips treated then a dental block would also be given to numb the treatment area completely. Most patients liken the treatment to that of having Botox® as the same fine needle injections are used.
However the discomfort is minimal and the results are optimum. The treatment is then completed with Agera® skincare products. There is no down-time to this treatment and no aftercare is necessary.
How much does it cost?
| Lips only | £300 | 1 vial of blood |
| Naso-labial folds | £450 | 1 vial of blood |
| Whole face for rejuvenation and wrinkles | £450 | 1 vial of blood |
| Neck & Décolleté | £450 | 1 vial of blood |

How many treatments do I need and how long does it last?
Immediately the lines and wrinkles will be filled. Within a few weeks the skin will begin to feel naturally rejuvenated, tighter and younger as the collagen rebuilds the structure of the skin.
Initially one treatment will be needed with a review after 6 weeks at which time a further treatment may be required to achieve further results. The extent of the results gained after only one treatment depends on age, sun-damage to skin, lifestyle habits and genetics.
As this is a very new treatment the extent to which the results will last will vary from patient to patient, especially when considering lifestyle habits and genetics. However, most patients will benefit from the treatment for 6 to 8 months after one of two treatments.
I already have fillers, can I still have TGF?
Yes, TGF can be combined with other fillers and will enhance the overall results along with improved healing to the skin post treatment.
